44. If any person is proved to the satisfaction of a Magistrate to have been infected with a contagious discuse in any registered brothel, the keeper thereof shall be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars, or to imprison- ment for any term not exceeding six months.

45. If any person is proved to the satisfaction of a Magistrate to have been infected with a contagious disease by the innate of any registered brothel, such person shall be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars, or to imprisonment for any term not exceeding six months.

46. If any child, being in the opinion of a Magistrate above eight and under fifteen years of age, be found in any registered brothel, the keeper thereof shall be liable to a fiue not exceeding one hundred dollars, or to imprisonment with or without hard labour for any term not exceeding one mcnth for the first offence, three months for the second offence, and six months for the third or any subsequent offence.

Every person apparently in charge of any junk, boat, sampar, or craft when any woman is found therein for the purposes of prostitution, shall be liable to the same penalties as in the preceding section mentioned, and in addition thereto such junk, boat, sampan, or craft, may ou proof of any woman having been found therein for the purposes aforesaid be forfeited to the crown.

52. Police officers may take into custody without warrant any person offending against oither of the three last preced- ing sections and to seize, detain, and take possession of any junk, boat, sampan or craft in which any woman is found for the purposes aforesaid.

If any person being the occupier of any house, room, or place, or being manager or assistant in the manage- ment thereof, having reasonable cause to believe any woman to be a commou prostitute and to be affected with a contagious disease, induces or suffers her to resort to or be in that house, room, or place for the purpose of prostitution, he shall be guilty of an offence against this Ordinance and on summary conviction before a Magistrate shall be liable to a peualty not exceeding one hundred dollars, or to impri- soument for any term not exceeding six months with or without hard labour.

54. Every person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance or of any regulation made under it shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, except where otherwise provided by this Ordinance or by any regulations under it, shall be liable on summary conviction before a Magistrate to a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars, or to imprisonment with or without hard labour for any term not exceeding six months,
